Day 6: The November Happiness Challenge 2020

God blessed me with two siblings; a boy and a girl, who are now a man and a woman. We grew up together and attended the same schools together, bonded over gists and late nights and what have you. It was.. beautiful. I’ll say some stories. When we were little, my brother used to be the manager in play and mischief affairs. He would suggest different game activities and we would follow suit because he was our leader. One day, we were playing ball inside the house ( there was a part of the house that was spacious and vacant so it was our playground), then the ball went all up into the ceiling and got stuck through a small opening. We urged our brother to save the day by getting a ladder to climb into the ceiling and this he did with reluctance. On climbing the ceiling, he fell into the next room and a large part of the ceiling got broken, but not before he retrieved the ball. We all then promised not to mention the occurrence to our parents because you know, who sent us to do such a risky thing? The week went by without our parents knowing of what happened and we were really relieved , life was good! Then a woman who was friends with my mum came to visit and she happened to see the hole while passing by and she asked my parents if they had seen it yet ( To be fair, she was just showing concern and she wouldn’t have known we were the culprits). Folks questioned us about it immediately she left and my brother took all the blame and lashes. It wasn’t funny because my sister and I kept feeling guilty for urging him on when it happened. That is just one of the many mischiefs that we were up to while growing up. We were the inseparable trio, who would fight like strangers and bond like besties. My brother would tease us so much about how no one would marry us while we would tease him about being forever single because we know girls won’t like him, they was the funniest and most hilarious conversations. Now, everyone is married. My brother has two kids with the love of his life ( we lied, didn’t we? Girls actually like him😂). My sister and I are also married and his prophecy didn’t come to pass. We are so thankful for the gift of one another, and we couldn’t have had it differently. My siblings are always there for me in many ways I can’t highlight, they make sure to provide psychological, financial and any other kind of assistance for me without me having to ask. We are a closely knit family, and the joy is in how we never hesitate to be present in one another’s lives when needed. I’m so thankful for this gift, and never will I take it for granted.
My very handsome brother!
See this fine woman who I call my sister.
Today, we are going to reach out to our siblings and appreciate them for being there for us. We will let them know how much we cherish them, and pray fervently for them. We will put a smile on their faces by highlighting the wonderful things they do for us, and we will hype them properly. I’ll be back. OBA

I am blessed with a brother, we like to call each other spaced twin.😍
We went to the same boarding house and I remember I would cry whenever he got bullied or injured. He gives me great advice I never follow, but doesn’t rub it in when anything fails. He is the absolute best!
Thank you Omotolani for this thoughtfulness

This post had memories flooding back.
Growing up with my two brothers had me feeling like a tom boy outside our home and a princess at home.
I met my only sister for the first time in 1996 and we weren’t the best of friends instantly. Little me couldn’t understand how there’s this new person I had to call and accept as sister. But now?! Don’t mess with us 😁
The sibling rivalry though 😀 that’s a story for another day.
Thank you for this challenge Omotolani. 🙏
