Day 27: The November Happiness Challenge 2020

Jolade, also known as Yetunde, is the younger sister I have from another mum. Her elder siblings are my friends from early University days, when we found out that we all had our homes in Ibadan, our holidays became regular visiting and hang out periods, which was where I met Yetunde. Our connection was instant, and we immediately knew that we wanted to vibe together. She became my sister and friend, and it was so easy to hold conversations with her. It got better when she was admitted to the same university I attended, so our visits and seeing each other weren’t restricted to only during the holidays in Ibadan. Many people who know me initially assumed that Yetunde was my biological sister, that is the extent of our closeness. She cares for me so much and she never wants to see me in a bad mood. I feel the same way about her, and seeing her or talking to her always makes me giddy with excitement. I remember one time I was going through a rough patch, she would call me and continuously ask if I was fine. We cried together, and she reassured me that things would be fine. Anytime she needed to talk to someone about anything, she would reach out to me and that is because of the bond and trust we have built. Till this moment, we are each other’s confidants and we hold conversations about everything. Yetunde has a pure heart and she barely holds grudges. She avoids situations that will make her get involved in drama and she is very open minded. She is ready to share everything she has with the people in her corner and I see this as a very admirable trait. Looking back over the years, I really can’t think of the past ten years without acknowledging her significance in my life.
We would have hangouts, visit ourselves, plug each other to opportunities and more. It is so beautiful, this bond that we share. I am very happy to see where she is now and how she is flourishing. Thank you for being in my corner, my sister. Thanks for the love, care and constant show of support. I really love you and I can’t trade you for anything in the world. May your days be beautiful, healthy and happiness filled. Today, we are going to eat good. I don’t know what your idea of eating good is, but you’d find something really nice and eat it. Do extra, so something different, enjoy yourself! I’ll be back.
