Day 25: The November Happiness Challenge

Barakah of Bkaysthots will be sharing her happiness tip with us today and trust me guys, It looks good! She writes: I learned a couple of years back that sometimes we go extra to look for happiness when indeed we can find it around us, little things that you barely pay attention to can actually bring you loads of happiness. As a Medic whose schedule is as tight, I have had to learn how to deal with stress, Nourish my system and stay happy all at the same time.. On my journey to recovery from depression, I got to understand that adding a bit of color to your life does wonders and hey don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, It works. The effect it had on me was so good that I was determined to add colors to my life on a daily basis but this time around use one stone to hit two birds, let me explain Smoothies are super colorful and helloooo, They are nourishing as well and sometimes a cup is all you need to make your day. If you have a stressful schedule like me you don’t have to worry about Undernourishment because they provide you with mineral and vitamins required for your body to function well and guess what they are so easy to make that all you need is a blender, fruit and a base, such as water and milk or yogurt. Awesome right?   So here are my 3 favorite smoothies:   #1   Minty watermelon smoothies: Asides the fact that watermelon is my favorite fruit, you just don’t have to do so much to get a smoothie in your mug, Why? watermelon doesn’t want you to pair it up with so many fruits to avoid indigestion, When I am running late for the hospital, This is always my go to and all you need is:   2 cups frozen cubed watermelon 1 cup water coconut milk 2 dates 1 tablespoon of honey a few mint and/or basil leaves, if you want to take it to the next level   Add the watermelon and coconut milk to a blender. Blend on high for 20-30 seconds. For a thicker smoothie, add a few ice cubes and blend until smooth. Then Add your mint or basil. You are good to go.   #2   Spinach-Banana Smoothie: I love green smoothies because I feel they contain more nutrients and the look so good in a smoothie mug. Green smoothies definitely do something to my brain that I am yet to figure out. All you will need is:   1 medium banana 1 handful spinach 1 tbsp of honey 1¼ cup unsweetened soy milk (or your fave milk – almond, oat, coconut, even water)   Throw everything into a blender and blend on high.   P; S, I know spinach is essential in a Nigerian home for our awesome Efo riro, So when I don’t have spinach to spare, I replace it with cucumber, It tastes just as good.   #3   Mango-strawberry smoothie: Honestly It’s always hard for anyone to offend me on a day I choose to take this smoothie because the combination of this two is the bomb, the moment you open your mug, Your life changes because your Limbic system gets messed up in a matter of seconds and God bless you they are people around, all you will keep hearing is, “what do you have in there? It smells so nice” and If you want it to be a killer, slice in some banana… Looooord! All you will need for this is:   1 cup light milk 1-1/2 cups halved fresh strawberries 1 medium mango, peeled and chopped Ice cubes Throw everything into a blender and blend on high. You are good to go.   Honestly, I really want you you guys to feel what I feel whenever I sit in a quiet place, a serene environment with a cup smoothie, So I will you need you guys to:   Make your favorite smoothie, Take a picture of it, Post on Instagram, Tag @bkaystots and @omotolaniee #bkaysmoothietribe #NovemberHappinessChallenge You never know you might just win something from me and make sure you highlight the effect the smoothie had on you in your caption. Ps: If you are just doing this for the first time please try not blend so many fruits together, You might have Indigestion or even get bloated and at the same time defeat the aim of the smoothie and please replace your breakfast with smoothie, Have smoothies and then have breakfast .So what are we waiting for, let’s get it moving. I Can’t wait to get Introduced to your favorite smoothies. And that’s it guys.Wishing Everyone a renewed sense of calm and well-being that good health leads to. Stay Happy guys. … Barakah wants us to make smoothies and you know, make it enhance our good health, I can’t wait to try out these  Recipes and I believe you all will make yours too.. I’ll be Back.
