Day 22: The November Happiness Challenge 2020

Aderinsola, the beautiful one. Derin came to my secondary school in the pre terminal class. She was quite ‘unique’ in her ways, and this drew the attention of many people to her; teachers and students alike. She had this carriage that made her stand out, and she spoke with the cutest accent. She was always so neat and prim, you just would want to be close to her. The first thing that attracted me to her was her name, I knew of the name but I had not known anyone who bore the name before then so imagine my delight when I heard it. I’m not sure we started off on a great note, because I remember faintly that there was some sort of drama surrounding our meeting, but when we did kick it off, it was the start of a friendship that would span decades. She is so mature. And by mature, I mean she is very well put together and this manifests in how she handles issues. She is vocal about her feelings, and everyone around me knows how big I am on this. I love people who express their emotions and don’t hold back in showing they care. Derinsola is that person, and she has a really warm personality.
I remember how she used to visit my house and how I’d visit hers while we were in secondary school. We would play dress up together, talk about our dreams and where we hoped to be in the future. I’m glad that we are both living great lives and impacting other lives while at it. I’m pleases that I remember her and I smile because I love all that she is, and I know that it only gets better. I’m grateful to God for bringing Derin my way, and I pray that He continues to keep and protect her. Thank you for making me happy, Aderinsola. It is no wonder you are my mummy’s Oriki mate, I mean, look at the similarities you both have, look at how amazing you both are, and I’m indeed the lucky one for having you both in my life. Today ,we are going to do some thinking, and decide to stop a habit that we don’t consider good enough. We all have not so pleasant habits, and it takes being intentional to actually stop them. So, today, you are going to tell yourself that you are dropping one bad habit, and you are going to stick to it. Intentions are very important because they are the ones that drive our actions, so I need you to make this intention today, and stick by it. I know it isn’t so easy, but you can do it. Remember, a bad habit can be anything, and the idea is to stop habits that could impend our growth or keep us from being fulfilled. I’ll be back. OBA
