Day 15: The November Happiness Challenge 2020

We are on Day 15, whoop! If you’ve followed the challenge this far, I’m really proud of you. Really really proud of you. It isn’t easy to embark on a journey and make efforts to follow through, so trust me when I say this is a huge feat, congratulations . I attended Unilorin from 2007 to 2011, and I daresay it was one of the defining points in my life. Beyond studying and bagging a degree, I was blessed with beautiful women as friends, and these friends and I have evolved together, becoming women doing different wonderful things and conquering the world.

I met her during remedials in Unilorin and our bond was ignited. She taught me so much about patience, perseverance and having reliance on God. Her actions inspired me to be a better Muslim, and to be consistent with prayers. She is one friend I’ll appreciate and admire forever, and I can’t wait for us to meet again and reminisce on old times. She is that woman that anyone who has her in their counter would never want to lose, and this is because she is someone I’d call a total package. She does make me happy, and talking to her is always peaceful. Waleeyah, I love you and I miss you very much.

Bukky and I met in 100 level, we were trying to register our courses and get acquainted with the Jambito life, and we clicked from there. We were later to find out that our parents had plans for us to meet each other and even be roommates, but as God would have it, we met without them introducing us. Our friendship set off from then, and it’s been over a decade of sharing good and bad moments with each other. She is that friend I can always be sure to laugh whenever I talk to her, and I’m indeed proud of how far we have come. She runs a cake making brand called BuuCakes in Lagos and she is good, you should patronize her anytime you need that service! I love you Bukky, May God continue to make you happy.

I love to talk to Eniola. She has the most soothing words, suggestions and relatable experiences. I love that we understand each other in a lot of ways, and that I can always count on her to come through when I’m confused about different things. We met in Unilorin, and we went on to be classmates, hostel mates and friends. I am really proud of all that she is today, she exudes so much class and ease and I love it! She runs a brand called EnniesKloset and you can count on her to give you customized tees in the best quality, along with RTW unique pieces. Thanks for being my friend, Eniola. I’ll cherish you for a long time.

While in Unilorin, I had just one baby and that baby is Fateemah. My beautiful beautiful Turai, she never hesitates to show her love for me and this love is highly mutual. I always bless the day that we prayed together at Zamfara hostel and we had a conversation, because this conversation was what led to our closeness. She is very intelligent and she has such a pure heart. Fateemah rides for hers, and she is loyal to a fault. I mean, you can count on Fateemah to have your back anytime and anywhere. She is beautiful, and her maturity amazes me everytime. I’m glad that our bond is as strong as ever despite the distance, and she is one of those who I always look forward to holding conversations with, always a great vibe. I love you baby, may God continue to protect you.

Lammie my OG! Such a pretty and intelligent woman. I cannot categorically say that we became friends from Unilorin, because truly, we kicked it off after I left there, but all I know is she has been my friend for years, and she opens up her home to me anytime I need to visit Ilorin. We have the coolest conversations, and I totally love to hear her voice, I won’t stop letting her know how soothing it is. She is a friend who has my back as I have hers, and I want to keep her forever. Just seeing her face makes me happy, and this is why I always look forward to seeing her. Think of the best outfits, Lamide has you covered through her brand LarmmiebyOlamide, just check her out and thank me later. I love you, baby girl, we are still going to fly high and tour those countries.

Hidayah is a reliable human being! And I mean that in every sense of it, she rides for hers and she is loyal to a fault. I definitely want that kind of person in my corner and I’ll be keeping her forever, may God spare our lives. She is supportive, and very free spirited, which I consider admirable traits. She is that friend who regularly prays for you, and never faults to help in any way she can. Everyone needs an Hidayah in their life, such a pure human. If you are in Ilorin and its environs, then She is your food plug. She runs BBsHut where she makes yummy delicacies to satisfy your taste buds, and testimonials abound. My baby girl, you know I’ll always love you.

“Dayo darling” as my mum calls out. She wasn’t just my friend throughout Uni but also my roommate at a point. You really don’t want to be in the same room with Dayo and I if you aren’t ready for laughter upon laughter. She has a great sense of humour and we always have something to banter about. It is beautiful to know that we still chat and exchange jokes like before, and she is also one person who rarely gets mad. I’m thankful to God that our paths crossed and I am equally thankful to see how she has grown exponentially over the years. A designer extraordinaire, Dayo can sew anything! If you think I’m lying, just check out her page , HariksonNeedle, you will come back to thank me.

Doyinsola, my mummy’s bestie. The one who is my friend and sister, the one who makes me laugh so much that I want to cry, the one who understands my facial expressions, the one whose crazy matches mine, the one who we got up to so much fun together and kept each other sane while at it . Doyin is my sister, and she proves that in every way. We might not talk for a long time because life has gotten each of us very busy, but it is a “lituation” anytime we connect. I really cherish you, Doyin, and I miss you very much. Thanks for making me happy.

If you know me from way back, then you would know this light skinned friend of mine. I call her ‘stupa’ because she actually brings light to wherever she comes to. She is refreshing, and such a breath of fresh air. Azeezah took me in in 100 level, when I couldn’t get hostel accommodation and I was almost stranded, she non reluctantly shared her space with me, and this gesture alone is unforgettable. I love how we regularly link up, and how we make sure to stay in touch regardless of time and location constraints. She is so generous and she sacrifices a lot for her friends, she is a reliable friend and her heart is very pure. She sells fashion items on ZeezahsWardrobe, and these items are unique. Thanks for being my friend my Ibukun, you are one of my best gifts. I have many friends from Unilorin that I really cherish, but space won’t permit me to mention them all. This is to let you know that whether your name shows up here or not, I appreciate you very much, and I’m glad to have you in my corner . Today, we are going to do some self adulation by writing down things we are good at. This is different from the description about ourselves that we did at the start of this challenge. Here , you specifically outline your talents or whatever it is you just know that you excel at whenever you do it. Write it out, read it aloud and admire yourself! I’ll be back. OBA
