It is the month for stories, and I’m bringing them all out for you.
Sometime around early 2017, I made up my mind to leave my job in Lagos and pursue a new life in Abuja, because I realized I couldn’t cope with the Lagos life I was living, and I needed to do something fast instead of regularly complaining. I resigned from my job, took some of my things and left for Ibadan where I was going to plot my move to Abuja.
I needed a place to stay, and I assumed I’d stay with a big sister of mine, but she let me know that the house had been leased at that time. I became very worried, because I knew I couldn’t just go to pay for accommodation when I wasn’t sure when I’d get a job yet or if I’d even stay in Abuja for a long time. So, I started thinking up possibilities, and I knew that I couldn’t just hit anybody up to request for accommodation, the person had to be close enough to me , and it had to come willingly from them. My friend, Princess , was ready to take me in, but unfortunately, her place was really far from town and it wouldn’t aid my intention of getting a job quickly.
While I was wondering what to do, my sister told me that she met one lady at a party she attended with Mum and the lady is a daughter to mum’s friend. This lady lived in Abuja and she might be willing to accommodate. I was initially skeptical because of my non interest in staying with a stranger, but my sister spoke to her and she was quite warm about me coming, she said I could come anytime and her doors were open. My sister also told me that from the interactions they’ve had, she seemed like a cool person so I shouldn’t be wary. I decided to be positive about it and off I went to Abuja after speaking with her about address and other arrangements.
This is the point I let you guys know that Wuraola is a total package. I didn’t for once feel like a stranger or outsider in her home, she took me in totally and made me feel so at ease that you’d think we both teamed up to rent the house. She created space for me to set up my things and went ahead to arrange them for me. She introduced me to all her friends as her sister and constantly checked on me even while at work to be sure I was fine. It looked too good to be true and I kept pinching myself to be sure that it was real. Nobody who met us at that point would have an inkling that we just physically met and that she took me into her home without knowing me before then. Yes, our mothers are childhood friends but even at that, not everyone would be willing to do all that she did and I can’t ever forget it.
Asides taking me into her home, she showers and shows me kindness, she listens to me, she cares for me, and she is always coming through with the best vibes. She rejoices for others and is ever ready to celebrate me when I win. She is the real definition of Iwalewa, and I’m so glad that we are in each other’s lives. Life is about opportunities and chance meetings, and I’m quite fulfilled that my sister suggested her place for me. Imagine if that didn’t happen, I’d have missed out on this very amazing human.
We have laughed together, cried together , had hangouts, gisted, and all sorts of things. It is always a celebration anytime we link up and she makes me very happy. I pray that God continues to be with her and that He grants her beneficial desires.
She is the CEO of GoldLadirezCorner and you can contact her for quality Adire Fabrics and RTW. Ibadan people, you can also check in as she has a walk in store. You may thank me later.

Today, we are going to splurge on something. Anything. It doesn’t have to be something so expensive, just buy something for yourself. That ice cream you’ve been craving? The outfit? The bag? That food vendor you want to patronize? Just do it. You would still spend the money anyway, so please don’t let November go without you spending on yourself. Today is a perfect day to make use of the motto : “You Only Live Once”. Do it and watch your happiness explode as you receive whatever it is.
I’ll be back. OBA

I would have still spent the money on data anyways.
Providing shelter for someone in need is no small act of kindness. It’s when you have a place to lay your head that you can worry about other things, so I can imagine your relief when she welcomed you with open arms.
Thank you, Wuraola for being an awesome human. May you always find help. Amen.
