Day 12: The November Happiness Challenge 2020

What does love mean to you? Experience and readings have shown me over the years, that love means different things to different people, and this is why we have to try not to force our own definitions of understanding of love on other people. To me, love is a combination of things and it extends beyond feelings. Of course it is inclusive of the butterflies and flutters in your tummy, but outside of this, it is that pull that makes you want to be better for yourself, better for them, be happy for yourself and for them, be useful for yourself and for them, be forgiving, be tolerant, be kind, be ready to compromise, and so on. Love is beautiful, and anything outside of that is not love to me. Love should make you better and not worse, love should be filled with ease and peace, and not strife and pain. Love should be wholesome, total and without a hold back. If we all loved a little more, I believe that the world would be better. Love makes me happy. And yes, I’m referring to romantic love. I could be having a downtime and remember the love I have for my partner, and then I become better. I could be frowning and scrolling my timeline, then I see lovers expressing affection for each other, or just posting each other’s cheesy pictures, and you’d see me grinning from ear to ear. That is what hearing about love, and feeling it, do to me. A lot of people these days, try to hold back with love, they try to be so guarded and guided that they end up giving half feelings and they call it love. As much as I have to admit that people have been hurt in the past and this is mostly why they decide to be more careful, I dare say that Love isn’t what you can do halfassedly, because truthfully? You are either all in or all out. There are no guarantees in life, many of the things we do are risk taking, so why not do it all the way? Why not allow yourself to love fully? Love is beautiful, I repeat. And it is a decision, a choice( it took me a while to understand this but now I do). Love is waking up everyday and choosing your actions. Love is deciding that you want to spend forever with someone. Love is thinking of yourself and thinking of them, with intention to make things better. Love is being deliberate and intentional, and combining different factors to work towards common goals. Love forgives and love tolerates, without giving room for abuse and discomfort. I can go on and on, because I am a sucker for love, and some people call me Omotolani the love enthusiast. But I’ll stop here, and let you know that Love works, and it can work for you. Allow yourself to be loved and to give love in return. May you get the best from it. Today, we will think about love, and describe what it means to us in our definitions. We will explain what love is and what makes us know that what we feel at a particular time is love. Please do this in the comment section, it is an engaging challenge, and I want to see your workings. I’ll be back. OBA.

Love is an amazing feeling. It can instantly brighten your day and fill you up with extreme happiness. I have extreme feelings when I’m in love. Extreme happiness when I’m happy and my heart literally aches if I’m not on good terms with the one I love. I’m a sucker for love and even though I have been dealt with some blows while loving, I can never give up on love, cus I love love and I will always pray for genuine love in its purest form.

I’m quite the lover girl, I go all out for the one I love. Love makes me so happy, I’m usually blushing when my lover gas me up, call me a pet name or when they cross my mind and I remember one silly thing they did or said.

Love is really beautiful and love to means commitment, loyalty, selflessness, sharing, joy, satisfaction, comfort.

I pray that love will be kind to me and everyone seeking it.

Love is indeed everything you have described above and more.
We all have our own ways of defining what love means to us and it’d be totally unloving to try to force our own version on the other person.
I pray we all experience true love in our lives.

Love to me means being there for people as in going the extra smile to easy a burden or put a smile on someone’s face( doing this gives me pure joy and I don’t mind the inconvenience).
    Love is understanding, kind, selfless❤❤❤

You have carefully and thoroughly dealt with the definition of love in your write-up. Even though it may not be exhaustive, it certainly is enough.

A portion of the scriptures (1 Cor 13: 13) says “Now, these three things abide: Faith, Love and Hope, but the greatest of these is Love. Love is the greatest of emotions anyone can experience, and it is truly, truly beautiful.
