Day 11: The November Happiness Challenge 2022
And you’ve blessed me with the best gift, that I’ve ever known, You give me purpose
: (Justin Bieber: Purpose)
The Online Dictionary defines Purpose in two ways, one is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists, while the other is a person’s sense of resolve or determination. Both definitions speak to how important it is for one to have a ‘Why’, and this is what we are discussing today.
Have you ever been asked that what is your Purpose in life and you begin to scratch your head because you have never really thought about it? Don’t worry, it does happen to the best of us and we are still here, thriving. When this question is asked, many of us believe that we have to respond with one grand and fancy explanation of what our purpose is, so we tend to be reluctant so the other person doesn’t look down on our entirety. I am here to let you know that you have no reason to be scared to respond, whatever you decide your purpose is, is your purpose.
Is your absolute purpose in life to worship God? Amazing. Is it to be great? To be good to others? To be a helper? A philantropist? All wonderful purposes, I tell you. The most pertinent thing here is for you to identify yours and stick by it without comparing it to the other person’s.
Having Purpose helps us to stay determined, dilligent and dogged. It’s like embarking on a journey with a particular destination in mind. Regardless of the many detours along the way, we keep edging on, knowing that the destination will give us all that we seek and make the journey worthwhile. You can also have one big purpose and smaller ones, that works very fine too. For some people, if you ask them what their purpose is, they would mention their family members because that is the why of everything they do and I consider it very cute.
Purpose can be used interchangeably with motivation because truly, that is what it is. Guess what? It could change too especially as we grow older. As a little child, your main purpose could be the fact that your folks would get you some candy if you finished your chores at the expected time, or they’d get you gifts if you passed your term exams. It won’t be so much of a purpose anymore once you pass that stage, and you would find yourself having other purposes.
My biggest purpose is making heaven and this is why I do not take my worship of God lightly. I do my best to avoid sins and doing thimgs God isn’t pleased with, and when I err and sin , I make sure to seek forgiveness immediately and to avoid it in the future. This is me serving my purpose and ensuring I don’t get dettered from it. My family is also my purpose, and by this, I mean my husband, daughter, parents and siblings. They are a great motivation for the many things I do and thinking of them always sets me right. I am embarking on activities that I know would make them proud of me and staying away from things that would bring them sadness or embarassment. They are my why.
Another Purpose I’d state that I have is making people happy and putting smiles on other people’s faces. It is a big pointer to happiness, for me. I share doses of happiness here and there and this is the mantra my brand is guided by. This shows in all that I associate with and you would always find me where merry is being made and lots of laughter is going round. Every little thing I do to or for the next person which makes them genuinely happy forms a huge part of my Life purpose!
What is your purpose, dear one? Ever thought about it? If you haven’t, now that I have attempted to simplify it and give examples, can you give a response? What is your purpose and what are you doing to ensure that you are on track?
I’ll be back. OBA
This is great!!! God and family has always been my WHY even though I always want to give explanation when asked this question. Thank you for letting me know mentioning this two is enough!
Very very enough!

My purpose is to live a full and fulfilling life. I just want to be happy and celebrate my family and friends.
I love your purpose!
My number one purpose just like you is making heaven. It’s paramount to me. I try my best to follow that path and continue to pray to God to give me strength to do things that will keep on that path. Another purpose for me is definitely family, my family is paramount over everything else. I constantly think of them before making any decisions and always want to do things that will make them proud. Another purpose for me is to do what I love and make money while doing it, what I love being anything fashion related.
My purpose centers around family, they are all I have got and practising my Islam properly. Every other thing is an add on and I am glad I am able to pull through as my purpose drives them and make a better person each day.
As a muslim, my purpose on earth is to worship Allah. I try to remind myself of that often. Next in line is taking care of myself and my family. Then achieving my goals to the extent that Allah permits. Constantly reminding myself of these and taking stock of where I am and what I’m doing, helps me stay on track.
My purpose in life is to worship almighty Allah, live a healthy life and be happy with my family.
God, family and attain a certain level of fulfillment. Having God at the pyramid of it all, surrounded by my true loves.
What a beautiful purpose
My purpose in life is to worship my creator, live a peaceful life. I grew up in a family with so many chaos. The ability to help people around me is also one of my purpose
My purpose is to worship my Lord and creator, Allah while surrounded by the people who matter most to me and helping people in my best capacity
