My “Sister Dammy” or “Dada” as F calls her. She is my sister through and through, and this post is me letting you guys know how important she is to me.
If you followed my pregnancy story, you’d have seen the honorary mention I gave her. How she was present in the early days of my pregnancy and offering the best kind of support. How she never got tired of my constant throwing up and complaints of unease, and how she offered herself to be the Nurse, cook, home tender and more. You would rarely know that she isn’t my biological sister, but a sister that God blessed me with through marriage.
Even after she had to leave for school, she would call me from time to time to be sure I was doing okay, and would keep encouraging me to hang in there. She made sure to round up quickly in school and return to me in time to be present for the birth of Fareedah, our baby. Before and after the birth, she was present in every way and made her mark seen. Everyone who came around didn’t leave without giving good remarks about her.
I take pride in the fact that I can always count on her, I mean, this is someone who was there all through my time in the labour room, someone who wept because I was in pain, someone who called her own brother to let him know how in pain I was and how nothing must happen to me😂. She is very pure, and God really showered His mercies on me by blessing me with her. I vibe with her heavily.
She caters to Fareedah like she birthed her herself. She is always up and doing, and we share the most intimate conversations. I tell her everything and she does same, this level of trust was built over time and it can only grow stronger. Our bond is such that cannot be explained, because I sincerely consider her my blood, and I tell anyone who cares to listen how much I cherish her. We gist, laugh, cry, play dress up, take photos, give advice and more to each other.
A visual representation of the happiness we give each other
You know how you are always at peace and at ease because you have someone who is readily willing to help and offers support for every situation? Yes, that is how it is with her. She is one of those people I want to spoil very much with good things of life, and I pray that God blesses me enough to do this. I pray that God grants her beneficial desires, and that He also blesses her with people who would always come through for her even more than she does for me.
Today, we are going to pick our notes or phones and write out a minimum of five things that we are grateful for. Just start writing, you’d be amazed that you would even get to twenty. There is always so much to be thankful for and even in the middle of a down time, we’d realize that there are still reasons to be grateful. So, make it a gratitude exercise and note down all the things that indeed make you thankful.
I’ll be back. OBA.
