DAY 5 : THE NOVEMBER HAPPINESS CHALLENGE

Yaaaaay It’s Friday! Did I hear you say TGIF? And yes, I’m better now. I’m smiling as I write this post and I’m grateful to you all for the texts and messages. You guys are my family now. How did the challenge go yesterday? Did you say those encouraging words to someone? I got those words from three people and I was very happy. I’m assuming you all said same to others and I can imagine how happy they must have felt. What about alms giving, Did you? Hopefully yes,  I pray we are all rewarded abundantly. Today, we are going to indulge in another self help. Not exactly a narcissistic act this time but It still would be about ourselves. When was the last time you genuinely appreciated God? ( No offence to the free thinkers here). I mean, take a few minutes to appreciate him for his blessings on your life and that of your family? I understand that some of us are going through many situations that are not very pleasant and we sometimes see no need for being thankful. It cannot always be smooth for us. Allow me to take some reference from the Holy Quran and holy bible.

“Your Lord is He that makes the ship go through smoothly through the sea for you that you may seek of His Grace, for He is Most Merciful to you. When distress seizes you at sea, you cry to Nobody save Him (God) but when He brings you back safely to the land, you turn away from Him. Most ungrateful is man.” (Quran 17 : 66-67)

Another verse says:

Do men think that hey will be left alone on saying, ‘We believe’ and that they will not be put to test? (Quran 29:2)

From the bible, we can see these:

Who fed you in the wilderness with Manna , which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you , to do you good in the end. (Deuteronomy 8:16)

This too :

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith  produces patience” (James 1:2-3)

The above extracts  serve as encouragement to us so we’d know we should stay thankful through Tribulations. May we not be tested above our capabilities.

The task…

  • Take a minute to reflect on God’s blessings in your life. (Trust me, He has blessed you a lot)
  • Say : Thank you God for everything You have done, You are doing and You will still do.
  • Smile, because God got you!
There is a Friday smile! I also didn’t forget my promise of giving two pictures. So, here we go….C360_2015-11-06-09-33-58-968 C360_2015-11-06-09-31-18-068 I’ll be back. BOS! Featured Image credit :  www.simplyhealthyflorida.com

At times we forget to reflect on what God has done. I fall victim of that too. It’s never been because of our skillset or qualifications. It’s just His grace that has brought us this far.

Asides thanking Allah for His endless mercies, I seek for His forgiveness more. I seek for His forgiveness because I know I am undeserving of most. Both on sins committed and obligations neglected. I think everybody should do the same… istigfar cleanses my soul. Thank you Tolani

You are welcome. The ability to seek forgiveness is in itself a blessing. May we remain guided
