Day 21: The November Happiness Challenge 2020

November 21, 2020

Moving to Lagos in 2015 was a big decision, because I had never thought of myself as a Lagos person. But you know how it is, you never can tell what you would do until a situation happens. On getting to Lagos, the friends I had were far away, and I was always too busy to even think of visiting anyone. You know how Lagos is.

Meeting Kofo was by fate. We had been following each other on Twitter but I don’t think we ever really had an interaction . Then, one day, I needed to do makeup for an event I had and I saw someone on the timeline mention her as a makeup artiste. I reached out to her and asked where she was, she said she was on the island and we agreed to meet up since she was close by.

I eventually had to cancel the appointment because I couldn’t attend the event, but the rapport we had started was built on. We decided to link up since we weren’t so far from each other and we liked each other’s vibes. She came over to my office and that was the beginning of our friendship. She would come to my house, spend time , I would go to hers, spend time, and so on. She would make my face up everytime and we would make videos while dancing and sharing jokes. There was never one dull moment with her, not one.

She would come to my office on Friday evenings and we would go for outings from there. Afropolitan vibes, a monthly event in Lagos, was our regular spot. Kofo likes to dance, and she never tired easily, so it was always so much fun with her. You only need to meet her once to understand what I’m talking about. She is very calm and laid back but once she gets comfortable with you, the energy is unmatched. We also used to go shopping together, she was always ready to shop with me even if I didn’t inform her early enough.

When my wedding was approaching, I was really busy at work in Abuja and I needed someone to help me with shopping for fabrics I’d need. Without reluctance, she combed the shops on the island to get me beautiful fabrics and she never for once complained despite that we had to do lots of back and forths before arriving at the ones I wanted and liked. This was very big, because I know how hard it can be to go shopping for something for someone who wasn’t present at the time. She even called her sister to go with her so as to get the best for me. Talk about sacrifices!

Remember I mentioned she is a Makeup artiste? Yes, she is, and she does it very well. So if you ever find yourself in London or anywhere in the UK, she is your plug for a clean beat, and I’m telling you this from first hand experience. Kofo is good! Just check out MakeupbyKofo and you’d be inclined to agree with me.

I miss her so much, and I find myself constantly thinking of all the fun we had within a short time. She is a real friend and I’m really proud of where she is and all that she does. Anytime we play catch up, I’m always so happy, and I don’t hesitate to let her know that I’ll be holding on to our memories until we link up again, by God’s grace. I pray that the Almighty grants her beneficial heart desires, and that He keeps her happiness genuine.

Today, we are going to ask a friend to talk about our strengths. It is not exactly a critique because we aren’t asking about our weaknesses too. We just want to know what our strengths are from someone else’s perspective. You can ask more than one friend, just make sure you ask at least one. Tell the friend to highlight what they think your strengths are, and tell them to be honest about it.

I’ll be back. OBA

    Kofoworola!
I met her the night of your bridal shower.
Even though we hadn’t met before, the moment she came in, all she wanted to do was help with setting up the space; I don’t think I’ll ever forget that because most other people sat around like actual guests.
    God bless you, Kofo!

    I’m definitely taking today’s challenge

From this write up, I can confirm that you’re blessed to have her in your corner. She looks lovable, even in pictures. She exudes ease.
There are people who come into our lives that we just can’t help but be thankful for.
I have a few of such people and I hold them dear.
