Brand Review: Ishars Apparel (The Modest Fashion Brand)

February 20, 2018

It took a lot of thinking and rethinking through to finally arrive at this review mode .  It is known that a Brand review should include the highs and lows of how a product or service is and nothing should be kept unsaid. I mean. You are doing a brand review, you should be able to put into clear words what the potential client should expect so there is no issue of misinformation

Why this needed thinking through for me is that I am known to be a huge hype woman. I know how to praise, appreciate and encourage people because I know how important this is. Seeing as we all need that push which can mainly be gotten through positive vibes. However, we also need to know where we really stand in the commercial market so that we can grow and succeed well. Hence, a total review is what I’ll be doing.

We will be starting this category with Ishars Apparel.

Ishars Apparel

This is a brand located in Lagos state, Nigeria and they mainly run an online service with delivery to different parts of the country and the world. They deal in Modest Fashion and do not have any religious or tribal barriers regarding who they sell to

The first clothing item I ever got from this brand was a long sleeved royal blue dress with a white net kimono to match. I had seen it on my timeline on Instagram  and seeing as that year (2016), was my year of wearing blue, I just knew I had to cop it. I then waited till I had some money and sent a Direct message to the page. We talked and I sent my measurements, then I got the package which I loved and wore with a HijabsbyAesha scarf here.

From that time , it’s been different buys from me and I even employed their services during my wedding. They supplied the veils that I used, The cloth and veil I wore for the Registry wedding, the veils  that my bridesmaids used and the dresses  my little flower girls wore.

I promised not to be sugar mouthed but sincerely, Ishars is one of the most reasonably affordable brands I have come across. You know when you see a gorgeous dress, your expectation is that it would run into tens of thousands but then you send her a message and viola! You see that you can actually afford it. She has Tunics between 3k to 5k, She has boubous between 4k and 7k and her dresses also range from 5k to 10k depending on what exactly you are buying.

Ishars probably has a special supplier of fabrics because she never disappoints with her choices. Talk about lush and pretty fabrics that are not harsh on the skin, she has them! From Silk to Crepe to soft and thick chiffon fabrics, she gets the best ones. She also sources her colours well and she has mastered the art of describing colours (Is it Garri white you want or Laptop ash, lol). She will get them for you. During the wedding, I only had to describe the colour I wanted for the veil and I was really scared because it just had to match my husband’s outfit. She did not disappoint, I got exactly what I wanted.

Note how well matching my veil and my husband’s outfit are? She did that!

Peep the Bridal Train Veils too

And the beautiful Flower girls? She made their complete outfits

We all know how delivery can be in this part of the world. We haven’t gotten a hang of it totally yet so it could still constitute an issue. But as for Ishars, oh well, she knows how to just make sure your stuff gets to you at the promised time and if it doesn’t? She will make sure to inform you and apologize. Sometimes, I place orders with her and I might have even forgotten the delivery date but she makes sure to remind me and ensure that the items get to me.

The importance of this cannot be overemphasized! How you package your products go a long way in determining people’s perception of it and thus should be done well. This brand does their wrapping well and they even accompany with cute personal notes with ribbons on top.

It’s good to see brands that make real clothes for ladies in a society where it seems ladies are becoming allergic to clothes. Nice work, keep it up
